For me, there are a few things I look out for in a make-up remover:
Water-Based
Still remember many years back when I occasionally put extremely thick and hideous make-up for choir concerts or prom nights, removing the caked layers and mascara was a chore. My mom passed me baby oil and I spent a good half hour just trying to remove the make-up AND oil on my face. Later the oil-based make-up remover got better, but still leaving skin feel oily. Water-based remover is ingenious and a woman's saviour - does its job well and leave your skin feeling fresh and oil-free!
Ease of Removal
Because tugging your skin too much is not good, especially if it's on a daily basis. Back to oil-based days, I probably used up half a dozen of cotton pads each time, rubbing and pressing hard against my face in an attempt to remove every single impurity on my face. As I grow older, I become more worried. I realised the importance of being gentle to our face, especially the eye area where the skin is thin. I don't want saggy laugh lines and wrinkles around my eyes!
Trusted Brand
Of course, you won't wanna put unknown or dubious stuff and chemicals on your face! So when it comes to facial products, I tend to be very careful and only use products from established brands supported by good reviews.
My latest make-up remover is a full-sized bottle of Biore Micellar Cleansing Water, which was kindly gifted by Sample Store courtesy of Biore. I have been using it for the past few days and it's been treating me well!
Biore Micellar Cleansing Water contains Watery Micellar Technology that effectively dissolves and lifts all make-up, including stubborn water-proof and smudge-proof mascara and eyeliner. This is not just any water-based remover, but is one that uses Natural Mineral Water from the Northern Japanese Alps for a gentle and soothing touch to your skin. That's not all. This formula also contains enriched Collagen and White Tea Extract to give you brighter, softer and suppler skin. If you often get breakouts and pimples, this special water is also anti-bacterial, minimises pores to give you clearer and more refined complexion.
So many benefits in one! Does more that what a make-up remover should do!
So, I put this product to the test!
Using a cotton pad, pump once to get an appropriate amount. Use the soaked cotton pad to gently wipe off make-up. Just a tip to remove eye make-up without tugging too much on the skin around the area is to place the soaked cotton pad on a closed eye and hold for 5 seconds before wiping the make-up off.
I am impressed by its efficiency in removing ALL my make-up! To further prove my point on this, I did a mini experiment as well:
Spread my hand with all sorts of make-up - eyeliner, mascara, eye shadow, lipstick and foundation.
Mix them up well like how a thick make-up would be.
Wipe them all off!
Look at how clean with just a single swipe! Almost instantly!
Biore also needs no introduction when it comes to facial products, especially make-up removers. From their blue bottled Hydra Clear Make-Up Remover, to the pink bottled series of cleansing oil, wipes and foam, I've tried it all and they just get better and better each time a new product is launched. Biore is no doubt my first choice for effective and pocket-friendly make-up remover.
This amazing product is now available at all pharmacies, hypermarkets and supermarkets, and major departmental stores for only $18.90. Take the first step for a cleaner, purer and fresher make-up free face every day!
Love, M
