Canele, you will be missed

Heard news that Canele has recently ceased operations in Singapore and was rather taken aback by it. Food served was decent, desserts were great and their macarons were impeccable - especially salted caramel flavour. How and why  would they not be doing well?

Here's some photos of the most recent meal I had there with my parents during my dad's birthday in May this year.

 Beef Bolognese

Classic Cabonara

Crabmeat Aglio Olio

Ending off the meal with an Opera Cake and tea.

Ahhh... it was a regret that on that day, macarons were all sold out (or that's what the staff said) and the dessert shelf was close to being empty, not a single macaron in sight. Not a macaron fan but do crave for a salted caramel one once in a while.

Personal thoughts - Starting a business is not as easy and glamorous as it is made to seem. Starting a business IN SINGAPORE is even harder. There are so many costs, licenses, taxes, laws to take note of, just the thought of it is scary enough. It's not enough to be good, because before you know it, similar businesses will be sprouting out next to yours. It helps to be special, but soon the novelty may wear out and customers will be in search for new excitement.

That said, I still dream courageously, chase the impossibilities and am working towards my goals.
Everyone should too.

Love,
M
